Rakhibandhan Utsab As a Part of SANSKRITI DIBAS
As desired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Rakhibandhan Utsab was organized as SANSKRITI DIBAS by the Department of Youth Services & Sports across the state on 26 th August, 2018. In order to strengthen communal harmony amongst all the people of West Bengal irrespective of race, religion, caste, creed and language, Rakhibandhan Utsab, 2018 was organized as a part of Sanskriti Dibas in all 342 Blocks, 122 Municipalities, 6 Municipal Corporations of our state and 144 Wards under Kolkata Municipal Corporation along with all District Headquarters . The state level programme was held at the location adjacent to Metro Channel, Esplanade, Kolkata. The programme was presided over by Sri Aroop Biswas,Hon’ble Minister in Charge,Dept. of Youth Services & Sports and Sri Laxmi Ratan Shukla,Hon’ble Minister of State,Dept. of Youth Services & Sports graced the chair of Vice-President. Sayeed Ahmed Baba, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Youth Services & Sports was also present in the programme. The programme was very much successful as it was attended by the representatives of different religious community, students of various schools & colleges, famous sports personalities like Janab Akhtar Ali, Jhulan Goswami, Poulami Ghatak and other dignitaries. Renowned singer Lopamudra Mitra performed in the programme.
